Barry started Alpenglow Wealth Advisors with his business partner in 2023, where he continues to
provide investment guidance at a time when financial markets grow more and more complex.
Previously, Barry had joined Ashworth & Empey Financial, LLC in 2012. As a prominent Business
Development and Practice Management expert with 20 years of being on the road, many financial
advisors credit Barry with delivering time tested business-building services and techniques that created long-
lasting client relationships and successful businesses.
With over 30 years of industry experience, Barry has an extensive knowledge of best practices within the
continuously evolving and dynamic investment advisory industry. His ability to think broadly about
critical business issues intersecting with client’s financial goals has translated into a unique talent to
simplify ideas and present solutions in a style that is both clear and compelling. With a wealth of
experience in the asset allocation process, he has been a valued resource for clients in their efforts to
pursue their financial goals and increase their investment understanding. Barry has been a regular
presenter to civic groups, professional organizations, students, and clients on working toward financial success through following sound, academically based investment principles.
Barry has been a guest Instructor and Lecturer at both Brigham Young University and Utah Valley
University. He lives in Sugar City, Idaho with his wife Sara. They are the proud parents of five children,
and now are enjoying their nine grandchildren. The family is very active in outdoor activities including
skiing, hiking, boating and exploring the nearest mountain range. Barry was a senior member of the
Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team and continues these efforts in Madison County. He is a
former President of the Utah Valley Chapter of the Marriott School’s Management Society. Barry has served on various civic and professional organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, and The Financial Planning Association.
